We are looking for a System Test Engineer with a focus on EMI/EMC to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will work closely with avionics, system, and software engineers to create test systems for development, qualification, verification, and validation purposes. Responsibilities:
•
Core Responsibility: Own EMC test readiness end-to-end from translating designs into test configurations to driving schedules and deliverables across teams.
•
Create test systems to support all phases of product development.
•
Define cable harnesses, breakout interfaces, and test hardware setups.
•
Collaborate with SW/FW for test modes, stimulation, and telemetry.
•
Configure and verify DUT operating modes prior to and during EMC testing.
•
Develop and maintain test setup and configuration documentation.
•
Track and drive on-time delivery of test hardware, fixtures, and support equipment to the EMC team.
•
Proactively manage the test schedule based on hardware availability, coordinate across disciplines, and remove blockers to eliminate dead time.
•
Maintain real-time visibility into schedule risks and escalate early to keep milestones on track.
•
Participate in design reviews and provide input to identify issues and drive design choices.
•
Conduct root cause analysis in support of vehicle integration and field operations.
Requirements:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
•
3+ years design experience with NX CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting.
•
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
•
Experienced and familiar with aircraft avionics module vendors and avionics component suppliers in UAS programs.
•
Exposure to EMC/EMI testing or familiarity with MIL-STD-461G test methods.
•
Experience working in or supporting EMC test lab environments (shielded rooms, anechoic chambers).
•
Familiarity with EMC test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, LISNs, current probes, or signal generators.
•
Experience with simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, MATLAB, ADS) for filter or signal analysis.
